Dad Tribes

Turning Fatherhood into Brotherhood

By Susan Slater

“In a world that often expects men to go through things alone, it’s powerful to see them choose brotherhood and growth.”The pressure to provide often leads men to sacrifice their happiness and presence with their families.

Dad Tribes, aglobal movement,is redefining what It means to be a dad and is transforming fatherhood into a genuine brotherhood. It offers dads a free, welcoming, and safe place to connect, support each other, and build lasting legacies. Andrew O’Brien, founder, createdthis journey and vision behind Dad Tribes, the life-changing movement affecting thousands of fathers.

Many fathers recognize the feeling of earning good money andfulfilling a traditional roleof provider. But youmay dreadyour job. “I was doing what I thought I was supposed to do as a man, a father, and a husband,” said O’Brien.

Angel Nunez and Miguel Cruzfelt theylacked anavenue to connect and gain support. They discoveredDad Tribes filled that gap; a place where fathers can bond, learn, and grow together. When the two met, it was an instant connection with the same vision.

Nunez found himself caught in a cycle of long hours and constant travel, leaving him little time with his family. This separation led to depression and a sense of emptiness, as he struggled to balance work and home life. He has six children aged 23 to 5.

“I think it is great. Angel is connecting, venting and has less of those silent dad moments,” says Haizle Nunez, Angel’s wife.  “He has made changes in parenting, learned to stay positive andis more patient. It has had a positive impact on him being a dad, man and husband.”

Cruz’s introduction to Dad Tribes started withInstagram and TikTok, prompting him to do some research. Something was missing in his lifedespite being there for his family.  He has three teenagers from 14-18 years of age. Cruz was raised by his mother and pastor father.

“I am so proud of my husband for being part of a community of dads who lift each other up” says Edjanice Cruz, Miguel’swife.“It makes me so happy that my husband’s heart and involvement are for this community of dads.”

The two men took a bold step and secured licenses for fifteen counties across central Florida—from Orange to Pasco and in between. They dove into community building, reaching out to local dads and hosting events that brought fathers together for networking, learning, and genuine support. Their headquarters became more than just a meeting spot; it evolved into a hub for families, furthering their belonging to a community and the legacy Dad Tribes stands for.

As owners, Nunez and Cruz secure sponsorships from local businesses, ensuring the chapter has the resources to host memorable events—like game nights, fishing trips, and other adventures—that create lasting bonds among fathers. The businesses become preferred providers and enjoy exclusivity amongst Dad Tribe members.

Their clubhouse is based in New Port Richey in a perfect building, Richey Racqueton Hwy 19.The building is home to elevenfamily-orientedbusinesses. The possibilities for Nunez and Cruz are endless with businesses supporting them to grow even further into the community.

The chapter’s active social media presence and app help members stay connected and informed.  Dads have enjoyed adventures like trips to Busch Gardens, sports games, fishing, jujitsu lessons, kayaking, football every Sunday and more. The environment is safe and welcoming for kids, and the spacious parking lot is perfect for BBQs and community gatherings.

If you’re a dad looking for more happiness, connection, and meaning, now is the perfect time to join Dad Tribes. With chapters opening across the globe, the movement is poised for even greater impact in the coming years. Don’t miss your chance to be part of a supportive brotherhood that’s changing lives.
