This Memorial Day we honor the Patriot Guard Riders (PGR) founded in 2005 with a singular purpose: to honor America’s fallen military heroes and first responders with dignity and respect.
Established in response to the need for shielding grieving families from disruptions during funerals, the PGR stand as a beacon of compassion, unity, and patriotism.
Membership in the Patriot Guard Riders is open to anyone who shares their values, regardless of military affiliation, background, or riding experience. The organization welcomes all, united by the desire to honor those who have served and sacrificed.
No special requirements are necessary—just a commitment to RESPECT.
At the heart of the PGR’s mission is their presence at funerals, memorial services, and homecomings for fallen heroes. Members stand silently with flags, forming a respectful barrier that shields families from unwelcome distractions and ensures their loved ones are remembered with honor.
Additionally, the PGR participates in annual gatherings, such as the “Gathering of the Guard,” where members come together to reaffirm their commitment and celebrate shared values.
The Patriot Guard Riders are deeply involved in community outreach efforts. They support nationwide initiatives like Wreaths Across America, laying wreaths at veterans’ graves to ensure their sacrifices are never forgotten. PGR also partners with the Gary Sinise Foundation, working together to provide resources, recognition, and comfort to families affected by their loss.
Honoring Gold Star Families—those who have lost a loved one in service—is a cornerstone of the PGR’s work. The organization extends support not only to spouses and parents, but also to children, helping them understand the value of freedom and the significance of their loved one’s legacy.
Through annual events and compassionate outreach, PGR fosters remembrance and encourages future generations to uphold the ideals of service and sacrifice.
