Pasco County has bolstered its emergency infrastructure by opening a brand new 911 Communications Center in Dade City

 The 911 Communications Center is at Pasco County’s Technology Center, which is at 38283 McDonald St. However, it isn’t open to the public because of the sensitive information exchanged during Emergency 911 calls. The addition of this new Center offers career opportunities for individuals who want to be associated with that type of place to work.

Also, it helps Pasco County to achieve full consolidation of its Emergency 911 Communications activity in addition to the services already provided at the current 911 Communications Center in New Port Richey. Pasco County is only one of a few counties in Florida that have been able to consolidate 911 calls.

This new 911 Center, which is fully operational, will enhance coverage, improve system resiliency, and serve as a critical backup for the New Port Richey location according to officials. By opening the Dade City location, Pasco County has achieved full consolidation of their 911 services. All Pasco County municipalities are now served through one unified dispatch system.

Pasco County is one of only a few counties in the State of Florida to have full consolidation of their communication services. “Opening this second center is more than a facility milestone – it’s a people milestone,” said Emergency Services Director Capt. Eric Seltzer. “We’re growing, we’re modernizing and we’re creating new opportunities for people who want to build a meaningful career in public safety,” Capt. Seltzer said.
