ZEPHYRHILLS - Pasco County EMS Team Honored

COURTESY ADVENTHEALTH

AdventHealth Zephyrhills and Pasco County Fire Rescue honored five EMS team members at Fire Station 18. They were honored during a recognition ceremony held Wednesday, March 25 at Fire Station 18, recognizing their dedication to serving the community and their role in delivering life-saving care when it mattered most.

The recognition follows an out-of-hospital cardiac arrest where a Pasco County man experienced a medical emergency while driving and was able to pull over after feeling unwell. A bystander stopped to help and called for emergency assistance. Pasco County Fire Rescue crews arrived quickly, found the man slumped over in his seat and began care on scene.

EMS crews then transported the patient to AdventHealth Zephyrhills, where the care team continued to treat him. Thanks to this coordinated response, the patient made a full recovery. The five EMS professionals recognized include: Thomas “TJ” Klaus, Paulino Rosales, Dy’Sean Broome, Joshua Doyle, and Maxwell DiEdwards.

“We see every day how much our first responders care about this community,” said Mallory Davis, ER Director at AdventHealth Zephyrhills. “Their quick action and teamwork gave this patient a second chance, and we're grateful to stand alongside them in caring for our neighbors.”

The ceremony brought together AdventHealth team members, Pasco County Fire Rescue leadership, and the patient to recognize the strength of the “chain of survival” and the impact of timely, coordinated care. At AdventHealth, caring for patients means supporting the whole person — body, mind, and spirit. This recognition reflects a shared commitment between health care providers and first responders to show up for the community in moments that matter the most. ♥
